The Personal Brand, Measured.
FILE № SL·ENG · MECHANISM
█
The instrument behind your Code.
The oldest thing we do is read each other in a tenth of a second. This is the instrument that does it on purpose. It reads your three selves, narrows thirty-six avatars to eight, then makes you choose a champion. Out comes your Behaviour Code.
Character, made measurable
So does every brand and every company, because a company is only its people. Each tells a stated story, a lived story and a perceived one. Trust leaks out of the gap between them. The instrument reads all three.
Stated
What you say.
The claim, the values, the story you tell at the all-hands and at dinner.
Perceived
What people believe.
The version that lives in your board, your team and your closest colleagues, whether you authorized it or not.
Lived
What you actually do.
The ground truth, the decisions made on an ordinary Tuesday, when no one is grading you.
Coherence is when the three become one thing.
Every result resolves through one validated structure: archetypes, a model as old as storytelling and understood on sight. Because you already recognize these figures, the read needs no decoding. That is exactly what makes the change it points to easy to act on.
3
Need-states
The drives beneath all behaviour: to care, to create, to conquer.
12
Archetypes
The family-level read: twelve timeless figures, from Dreamer to Chief.
36
Avatars
Three distinct faces of each archetype: the personal, earned read.
42,840
Codes
Every ordered three-avatar signature: the fingerprint of one identity.
It reads from the broad to the specific: three needs narrow to twelve archetypes, each archetype opens into three avatars, and your top three avatars combine into one of 42,840 Codes. The further down you go, the more precisely it names a single person, or a single company.
The same three drives are also the three phases of any piece of work. Create is where ideas and craft live, Conquer is where things get driven and decided, and Care is where they land with people. It is the arc under every serious model of how teams contribute, which is why your Code shows not just who you are, but where you pull at work.
The Archetype Map · 3 Needs, 12 Archetypes, 36 Avatars
Every archetype in one square. Read left to right by appetite for conflict, Care, then Create, then Conquer, and bottom to top by openness. Each one opens into three avatars.
Appetite for Conflict →
Stage one: Narrow
Pick a need-state, then tap through twelve rapid cards. The engine scores all thirty-six avatars and surfaces the strongest eight. Breadth, exploration, discovery, the field opens before it closes.
Stage two: Choose
Eight avatars enter a single-elimination bracket, seven head-to-head choices across three rounds. Tension, finality, payoff. Nothing in the identity space does this: others hand you a label; we make you earn a champion.
Brackets are the most-engaged format in sport for a reason: every choice is consequential, and the result is a winner, not a description. We borrowed March Madness for self-knowledge.
A person cannot tell you what they are, they leave traces. Six of them, read together, give the whole game away, in a person, a brand or the company across the table.
Want the evidence beneath it, the research, the validity, the differentiation engine? Read the science.
The same validated instrument reads in two directions. Pointed inward, it reads you from your own choices and hands you your Code. Pointed outward, it reads the world you move in, your own output, your rivals and your category, from the evidence they put into public. One ruler, two intakes, never two engines.
Pointed inward
Your own choices, scored into your Code. The self you claim, measured.
Pointed outward
A rival, a brand or your category, read from the evidence it publishes. The same taxonomy, the same ruler.
Because both directions come off one ruler, the reads compare. Your Code and a rival’s Code are not two scales you squint at side by side, they are the same measurement taken twice. That is what lets us say where a rival leaves ground open for you, and mean it.
And because it is measurement, we hold our own intelligence to it. Every read traces back to a ground, your dossier or a cited source, and when the instrument reads a rival it shows the verbatim evidence and scores how much of the claim is traceable. We do not guess, and we do not grade you against a black box we cannot explain.
We measure our own instrument for grounding, and we show the receipts.
Two reads you keep, and the standing layer that keeps them sharp.
Identitywho you are, and how to show it
Your truest self, plus the Brand Book.
Strategywhere you win
Your position, from real research on your field.
The Agenthow you stay ahead
The standing operative, after the read. It briefs you on your field, counsels your moves, and drafts in your voice.
